MTATA Hall of Fame
Hall of Fame Awards Criteria
- The nominee is/ was a member of the MTATA with a minimum of fifteen (15) years practicing as an Athletic Trainer in Montana
- Athletic Trainers who practiced prior to the formation of the MTATA, and members who are retired or deceased may be nominated
- The nominee should be active in advancing the profession of Athletic Training and Sports Medicine (ie. education, research, speaking, writing, etc.)
- The nominee should be a well-respected member of their community (i.e. volunteer, civic organizations, church, school)
- The nominee should make contributions/support to the MTATA and the profession of Athletic Training
- The nominee should make contributions to healthcare and quality experiences for patients and patient populations in Montana
- A curriculum vitae/resume and 2 letters of recommendation, must be submitted in support of each nominee
- The Committee shall recommend candidates to the MTATA Executive Council for approval
MTATA Distinguished Service Award
This award may be awarded annually to no more than 3 individuals who have shown exceptional service to the profession of athletic training in Montana. This award is open to anyone, regardless of years in the profession. Nominations should include a narrative as to the nominee's accomplishments professionally and how they have shown extraordinary service as a member of the MTATA
MTATA Outstanding Early Professional Award
Description:
This award is to recognize an early professional athletic trainer that has positively impacted the athletic training profession in the state of Montana.
This award will not be presented if there are no qualified candidate(s) nominated. Individuals may not receive this award twice.

Awards Criteria
- The nominee must have at least 1 year of experience as a Licensed Athletic Trainer in the State of Montana
- The nominee is currently considered an early professional with no more than 6 years of certification
- The nominee must be a member of the NATA and MTATA in good standing
- The nominee has activities, contributions, and/or service which contribute to the enhancement of the profession of athletic training in the State of Montana and/or MTATA
- The nominee demonstrates exemplary leadership and the ability to inspire others in a way that directly benefits the athletic training profession
- A letter of nomination including the award criteria must be submitted by the sponsor
- At least one additional letter of recommendation must be submitted in support of the nominee
- The Committee will recommend candidates to the MTATA Executive Council for approval
MTATA State Recognition Award
This award is to recognize an individual or organization, who have made and/or are making a significant contribution of their time and energy to the state-wide membership of the MTATA. This individual or organization promotes and supports the athletic training profession by providing services that lead to the betterment of health care or advocacy and advancement of the athletic training profession. This could include, but is not limited to:
Awards Criteria
- Promotion of health and safety
- Advocating for athletic training/athletic trainers
- Participation in important legislation
- The education or mentorship of athletic trainers
Awards Criteria
- This award is open to any individual or organization that supports the profession of athletic training in the state of Montana. Examples might include licensed medical providers, legislators, safety advocates, athletic trainers or other supporters of athletic training in the state of Montana.
- When nominating an individual or organization for this award please provide appropriate supporting documents (i.e. letters of recommendation, resume, programs, etc.) that speak to and demonstrate the contributions that benefit the membership and/or association.
